ICONOSTASIO is a collection of genuine objects curated by Greek art collector, gallerist and writer Tassos A. Gkekas.

“I have most carefully selected each item according to my personal everyday needs. Due to many travels and a continuously changing environment, I enjoy a symbiotic relationship with the items I surround myself with. It has helped me to take excellent care of an important part of my identity: the need to be encircled by objects which trigger and challenge me aesthetically and intellectually – wherever I am in transit.

Life is magical and by traveling it can be extended to several ideal moments. This very satisfaction can be increased by ICONOSTASIO intentionally brief family of objects. I established this space for those who appreciate, respect and identify with meaningful utility as much as they love refined beauty. Buzz Rikson’s B-15D Flight Jacket – U.S. Air Force

Intro

Buzz Rickson’s was established in 1993 in Japan. The company produces exact reproductions of vintage US army and air force clothing. An immense amount of research into the context of the clothing is done for each individual garment.

Description

Since its birth, the B-15 series has undergone numerous improvements. The final arrival point was the B-15D. The biggest feature is its colour, and it has adopted the new standard colour sage green from the previous air force blue. Air Force Blue, which represents the pride of the Air Force, was forced to change to sage green due to various problems such as visibility and easy absorption of sunlight. The boa of the mouton collar, which has been symbolised since the birth of the flight suit, has been transformed into the MA-1 with the bore collar eliminated due to the improvement of comfort due to the development of aircraft and the increase in size of the helmet, and the B-15D is the mouton. It was the last flight jacket of the US Air Force with a collar bore.
