Buzz Rickson’s was established in 1993 in Japan. The company produces exact reproductions of vintage US army and air force clothing. An immense amount of research into the context of the clothing is done for each individual garment.
The MA-1 is synonymous with the advent of the jet age, and was used in every theatre of operations throughout the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

It has been appreciated for many years for its functionality and comfort. The MA-1 didn’t develop overnight, years of research and know-how went into its development. The adoption of the MA-1 was evidence of the arrival of the “jet age”. It was developed to work with the updated aircraft equipment. The first MA-1 issued in 1957 was popular with U.S. Air Force aircrews. It was replaced in 1976 with CWU45/P. Modification of the MA-1 continued in a search for perfection. The MA-1 is now a strong influence in the world fashion market and sales for civilian use have surpassed military sales.
